We lowercase the host, strip www, reject raw IP addresses, and validate basic hostname rules.

DNS A/AAAA, TLS on port 443, HTTP status and redirects, and optional RDAP registration age when available.

Signals are weighted into a 0–100 score with Safe, Caution, or Risk bands plus a short English summary.
What we check
Public signals we combine into the trust score—resolution, certificate health, HTTP behavior, and domain age when RDAP responds. Each card below maps to part of that pipeline.
TLS
Certificate validity on port 443, including rough expiry timing when available.
HTTP
Response status, redirect chain length, final URL, and server header when exposed.
RDAP
Best-effort registration date via RDAP to estimate domain age—not available for every TLD.
Scoring
Weighted heuristics only. Safe (70+), Caution (40–69), Risk (<40).
Risk flags
Warning-style signals that pull the score down—such as failed DNS, broken or expiring TLS, very new domains, or long redirect chains.
About ReviewScene
ReviewScene is a lightweight, single-page helper for quick domain research—built to answer a narrow question: do basic public signals (DNS, TLS, HTTP behavior, and registration hints) look reasonable right now?
It runs best-effort automated checks from the server and turns them into a simple 0–100 score with a short summary and factor list. That score is a heuristic snapshot in time, not a reputation database, blocklist, or certification of safety.
ReviewScene does not crawl page content, scan for malware or phishing, verify business identity, or replace professional security review, legal due diligence, or your own judgment. Use it as one input among many—especially before clicking, signing in, or sending money.

It is a weighted summary of DNS, TLS, HTTP, and optional RDAP signals—not a reputation rating. Treat it as a quick technical snapshot, not proof of intent or content safety.
No. TLS encrypts traffic and validates a certificate for the hostname; phishing and scam sites can use HTTPS too. ReviewScene treats valid TLS as one positive signal among several.
Up to 20 fresh domain checks per hour per IP. Repeat checks for the same hostname in a short window may not count toward that limit.
The same hostname may show an unchanged score for about six hours before a new live lookup runs.
Yes. Use Share result to copy a URL with
?domain=. Anyone with the link can view that check.RDAP coverage varies by TLD and registry. Timeouts or missing registration events leave domain age unknown; the score still uses DNS, TLS, and HTTP.
ReviewScene is built for domain names. Raw IPv4/IPv6 literals skip normalization rules meant for registrable hostnames and are not supported in the form.
No. We do not fetch page HTML for content analysis or integrate antivirus feeds. Use dedicated security tools for malware and phishing detection.
